Dr. Gu graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical school with a master’s degree in medicine. Dr. Gu is an associate chief physician practicing at the Shanghai No.6 People’s Hospital, the only specialist focused on ankle surgery at the Easter Campus of the Shanghai No.6 People’s Hospital.

He has completed a one-year specialized fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Department of Orthopedics, at Nara Prefecture University of Medicine, Japan. He has published 24 papers in domestic and international journals and have participated in numerous significant academic presentations both domestically and internationally.

Currently, he serve as an international member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), secretary of the Pujinghui Foot and Ankle Study Group, a member of the Chinese Diabetic Foot Alliance, a youth member of the Foot and Ankle Study Group of the Shanghai Medical Association Orthopedics Branch, and a youth member of the Foot and Ankle Surgery Group of the Chinese Medical Association Orthopedics Branch. He also serve as a reviewer for the "Chinese Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery" and the "Chinese Journal of Trauma and Orthopedics".
