Dr. Wan Fang is an attending physician in the Department of Sports Medicine at Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Sports Medicine at Fudan University, under the guidance of the internationally renowned sports medicine expert, Professor Chen Shiyi.

He performs and participates in over 300 artificial ligament-related surgeries annually and has served multiple times as an instructor for artificial ligament workshops. He is deeply involved in basic and clinical research on artificial ligaments, and his research achievements have been awarded the National Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by the Higher Education Scientific Research Outstanding Results Award (Science and Technology). The research on a new type of carbon nanotube high-strength artificial ligament, which he led, was published in Nature Nanotechnology in 2023 (with a five-year impact factor of 39.6) and was recognized by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences as one of the "Important Medical Advances in China for 2023."
